About me

I’m a licensed professional counselor. I bring over 20 years of experience in public education, having worked at the middle school, high school, and university levels, private practice, and career counseling. I specialize in supporting adult clients—especially mothers and parents—who are navigating big responsibilities, big emotions, and big expectations. Many parents also find themselves confused or frustrated by the school system, and I help bridge that gap so you can better support your child without feeling lost or second-guessed.

My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in real-world tools. I blend cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to help you build confidence, reduce stress, and feel more in control of your life. Think of our work together as clearing mental clutter and creating space for calm, clarity, and forward movement.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating—but it’s also an incredibly brave step toward feeling more grounded, capable, and supported. I’m here to make that step feel less scary and a whole lot more empowering. If you’re ready for a safe, compassionate space to breathe, sort things out, and grow, I’m here to help.

Reach out when you’re ready—you deserve support that supports you.

My journey

My journey into this field began with a genuine passion for supporting people through periods of change. Over the years, I’ve worked in private practice, school counseling, and career counseling, giving me the privilege of walking alongside individuals at many different stages of life. These experiences reinforced just how important it is to have steady support when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.

What motivates me most as a counselor is watching clients grow in resilience, confidence, and clarity. I truly believe everyone has the capacity to create meaningful change, even when it feels out of reach at first. Being able to support and encourage people as they find their footing—and their direction—is one of the greatest honors of this work.

How I Support My Clients

I provide a calm, supportive space where you can slow down, sort through what’s weighing on you, and reconnect with what matters most. My approach is client-centered and collaborative—you bring your experiences and goals, and together we uncover the path forward.

Using a blend of cognitive-behavioral strategies, solution-focused techniques, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness practices, I help clients:

  • Clarify their needs, values, and priorities

  • Develop practical tools to manage stress and overwhelm

  • Strengthen confidence and communication

  • Navigate school-related or parenting challenges

  • Make decisions with greater clarity and direction

  • Build resilience during life transitions

Whether you’re facing anxiety, navigating the school system, adjusting to a new role, or simply trying to find balance again, our work will be tailored to your unique situation. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, capable, and in control—one meaningful step at a time.

Approach

I believe therapy should feel supportive, practical, and tailored to you—not one-size-fits-all. My style is calm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I focus on creating a space where you can talk honestly without judgment and walk away with tools you can actually use in real life.

I blend approaches like CBT, solution-focused strategies, mindfulness, and strengths-based work, depending on your needs. Some clients need structure and clear steps; others need space to process emotions, clarify decisions, or sort through stress. We’ll figure out what works best for you together.

As we work, I’ll help you set realistic goals, build skills, and make steady progress. My role is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and capable—one step at a time.

Communication Style

I prioritize active listening so you feel genuinely heard and understood, creating a space where you can speak freely without pressure or judgment. I work especially well with women navigating the demands of parenting, school-related stress, or major life changes. I understand how overwhelming it can feel to balance family needs, personal goals, and expectations—especially when your confidence starts to wobble.

In our sessions, you can expect honest, empathetic feedback tailored to your situation. Sometimes that looks like practical strategies you can use right away; other times it means slowing down, reflecting, and making sense of what you’re carrying. With nearly two decades of experience in education, I’m also able to support parents who are trying to advocate for their children, understand school systems, or navigate academic stress at home.

I approach difficult topics with patience and calmness, giving you space to process at your own pace. My tone is supportive and encouraging, helping you build confidence and take steady, meaningful steps forward. I value open dialogue and want you to feel like an active partner in the process so our work truly reflects your voice, your needs, and your goals.
